MU Extension offers free event on weeds, nutrients and more

University of Missouri Extension specialists headline the 2018 Chariton County Soils and Crop Conference.

The free event is set for 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 17, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Salisbury, says MU Extension agronomist Dhruba Dhakal.

MU Extension state weed specialist Kevin Bradley talks on weed management in row crops. Natural resource engineering specialist Kent Shannon gives an update on drone technology. U.S. Department of Agriculture acting area resource conservationist David Doctorian talk gives tips on crop and soil management for improved soil health. MU Extension nutrient management specialist Peter Scharf offers information on nutrient management in row crops.

Register for the event by calling the MU Extension Center in Chariton County at 660-288-3239 or emailing [email protected] by Jan. 15. The event is free, but lunch registrations are required.
