Kansas Limousin Breeders hosting annual meeting and sale in El Dorado on March 9-10

Kansas Limousin Breeders Association is sponsoring the Flint Hills Choice Sale in El Dorado, Kansas, on March 10 at the El Dorado Livestock Auction barn. In addition to the registered fullblood, purebred and lim-flex sale, there will be an offering of commercial cow/calf (calf must be out of registered fullblood, purebred or lim-flex bull), commercial bred heifers (must be bred to registered fullblood, purebred or lim-flex bulls) and commercial open heifers (50% or greater registered Limousin).

Consignors of commercial females must provide a copy of the registration paper of the bull that sired the calf, bred the heifer or sire/dam of open heifers. The commercial lots must also meet the other sale rules including females must be born after June 1, 2009; breds must be vet checked sale in calf; and bred females must be bred to calve by 30 months of age. Opens are to be under 20 months of age. These lots will be cataloged differently from the registered bulls and females and commission will be a flat 5 percent. If you are interested in putting commercial females in the sale and have questions, give Randy Corns, KC Youngblood, Kyle Dye or Jerry Meek a call, their numbers are listed on the KLBA website at www.kansaslimousin.org.

Prior to the sale, the KLBA will hold their annual meeting on March 9 at 6 p.m. at the sale barn facility. The board will also be hosting a silent auction from Friday night through the start of the sale on Saturday to help fund association activities throughout the year. If you have items to donate and are not able to attend, please contact a board member and we will work to get the item to the annual meeting. Pictures will be added to the website for those not in attendance to place bids.
