Ericson Livestock Auction report
The Ericson Livestock Auction, Ericson, Nebraska, reported receipts of 4,290 head selling on Jan. 20, compared to 4,150 head a week ago and 4,400 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steers over 600 pounds were selling steady to $4 higher and heifers were selling mostly steady. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd with internet buying noticed. The calf and feeder supply included 61% steers and 39% heifers with nearly 68% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
