Tama Feeder Cattle Auction report
The Tama Feeder Cattle Auction, Tama, Iowa, reported receipts of 930 head selling on Feb. 9, compared to 736 head selling Jan. 26, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.
This was a special pre-conditioned calf sale. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers 600 to 699 pounds were selling $7 to $9 higher, 750 to 799 pounds were selling $5 to $5.25 higher, 800 to 899 pounds were selling steady to $0.25 higher, feeder heifers 600 to 749 pounds were selling $1.50 to $4.25 higher, 750 to 799 pounds were selling $2 lower. Trade was active. Demand was good. The supply consisted of 60.8% steers, 39.2% heifers and 93.5% were over 600 pounds.
