Youth Lawn Mowing Clinic offered in Wichita on March 21

Any youth in grades fifth to ninth who want gain lawn mower safety knowledge is invited to the Youth Lawn Mowing Clinic to be held at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center at 21st and Ridge in Wichita on March 21 from 9:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This clinic is designed to assist youth in earning summer income by mowing lawns.

Cost is $10.00 for advanced registration up to March 9 or $15.00 after that date. Space is limited so please register early. Deadline for registration is March 19 or when the class is full, whichever happens first.

Information presented will acquaint participants with types of lawn grasses and their proper care. In addition, the training will acquaint youth with knowledge of lawn mower safety, mower maintenance and business practices.

Two sessions will be offered. The morning session will run from 9:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m and check-in starts at 9 a.m. The afternoon session will run from 1:20-3:30 p.m. and check-in starts at 1:00 p.m.

Both sessions will cover lawn grasses & their proper care; safe use of lawn mowers; lawn mower maintenance and lawn mowing business practices. Upon attendance at the training session, each participant will receive an information packet, business cards and a certificate of completion.
