Tulia Livestock Auction report
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 3,207 head selling on Feb. 15, compared to 3,050 head a week ago and 594 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $1 to $4 higher. Trade was active on very good demand. Record setting drought continues to push lighter weight yearlings into the market early this year. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 1%, 0% replacements and 99% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 54% steers and bulls, 46% heifers, approximately 80% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 500 to 600 lbs., 164.00 to 178.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 166.00 to 171.50, few 648 lb. calves 150.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 145.25 to 155.50, few 795 lbs., full 141.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 138.50 to 143.00; 900 to 950 lbs., 134.50 to 137.00; lot 1014 lbs., 128.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, lot 486 lbs., 160.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 155.00 to 168.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 153.00 to 163.00, calves 145.00 to 148.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 143.00 to 148.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 140.00 to 146.85. Medium and large frame 2, 500 to 600 lbs., 147.00 to 153.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 135.00 to 145.00.
