Cash bids higher compared to last week
Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat, soybeans and sorghum were higher, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Feb. 27.
Weather concerns continued to help grain markets Feb. 27. Kansas City wheat pushed higher from dry weather concerns in the western plains, corn and soybean futures continue to gain support from dry conditions in South America. Flooding on the Ohio and Illinois River are continuing to cause problems moving grain down the river for export.
Wheat was mostly 4 to 11 cents higher. Corn was mostly 2 cents higher. Sorghum was 3 3/4 cents higher. Soybeans were 3 to 6 cents higher.
In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was 4.89, up 11 1/4 cents.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.84, up 11 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $6.19, up 4 1/4 cents; Portland, $5.40 to $5.67, unchanged; St. Louis, $4.63 to $4.88, up 4 to 2 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.57 1/2, up 2 cents; Minneapolis, no comparisons; southern Iowa, $3.45 1/4 to $3.60 1/4, up 1 3/4 to 2 3/4 cents; Omaha, $3.48 to $3.57, up 2 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $10.08, up 3 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, unavailable; southern Iowa, $9.93 1/2 to $10.04 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $10.21 to $10.37, up 6 3/4 to 7 3/4 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Feb. 27, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.69 to $5.84, up 11 1/4 cents; 12% protein, $6.34 to $6.49, up 11 1/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.74 to $6.89, up 11 1/4 cents; 14% protein, $6.74 to $6.89, up 11 1/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
