Russell feeder cattle auction report
The Russell feeder cattle weighted average report, Russell, Iowa, reported receipts of 3,307 head selling on March 5, compared to 1,908 head a week ago, according to the USDA-Iowa Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Des Moines, Iowa.
Compared to the sale a week ago, feeder steers were selling mostly $5 higher. Feeder heifers were selling mostly steady. Trade was active and demand good. The supply was good. Receipts this week included 75% feeder cattle over 600 pounds with 57% were steers with 43% heifers.
