Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,746 head selling on April 23, compared to 2,234 head a week ago and 2,844 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $3 to $4 higher, in a light test. Quality was good. Demand was good. Receipts include 26% over 600 pounds and 43% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady to $1 lower, in a light test. Slaughter bulls were selling $3 lower also in a light test. A total of 259 cows and bulls sold with 51% going to packers.
