San Angelo livestock auction report
The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,277 head selling on May 3, compared to 1,479 head a week ago and 751 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were selling $1 to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were selling $1 to $3 lower. Stock cows and pairs saw weak trading. Trading and demand were moderate. Quality was not as attractive as a week ago, mostly average to plain. The supply included 14% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 75% feeders, 10% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 35% weighed over 600 pounds.
