San Angelo livestock auction report
The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,179 head selling on May 17, compared to 1,200 head a week ago and 886 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were selling $2 to $5 lower. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were selling steady. Stock cows and pairs were trading moderately lower. Trading and demand was moderate. Quality not as attractive as a week ago, mostly plain. The supply included 20% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 54% feeders, 25% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 25% weighed over 600 pounds.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 196.00 to 202.00; 620 lbs., 146.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 267 lbs., 194.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 149.00 to 157.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 134.00 to 141.00. Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 150.00 to 160.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 136.00 to 147.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 127.00 to 129.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 123.00 to 128.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 300 to 400 lbs., 140.00 to 148.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 134.00 to 142.00.
Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 500 to 600 lbs., 127.00 to 130.00; 625 lbs., 129.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 112.00 to 119.00.
Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 228 lbs., 188.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 126.00 to 131.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 124.00 to 128.00; 723 lbs., 118.00. Stock cows/heifers: All were pregnancy tested and sold by the head. Medium and large frame 2, 675.00 to 950.00.
Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1, 1400.00 to 1450.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1135.00 to 1370.00. Medium and large frame 2, 800.00 to 1050.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 350.00 to 750.00.
