Apache Livestock Auction report
The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,599 head selling on June 7, compared to 1,583 head a week ago and 1,636 head last year, according to the
USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $2 to $5 higher, feeder heifers were selling $5 to $9 higher. There were not enough steer and heifer calves to compare for a market test, but a higher undertone was noted. Quality was fair to good with good demand. The supply included 62% over 600 lbs and 53% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $1 to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were trading steady. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 161 cows and bulls sold with 53% going to packers.
