Kansas Cattlewomen award $5,000 in scholarships
Five students at Kansas State University have been awarded $1,000 Kansas CattleWomen Scholarships through the Kansas Livestock Foundation. Ella Barrett, daughter of Gene and Anna Barrett from Grantville, will be a freshman and plans to study animal sciences and industry. Ellen Carp of Wichita is the daughter of David and Susan Carp and will be a senior pursuing a degree in dietetics. Elizabeth Donaldson is the daughter of Stephanie and Bruce Donaldson from Berryton. She will be a junior in animal sciences and industry with a biotechnology and biosciences option. Ashton McGinn, daughter of Mike and Susannah McGinn of Sedgwick, will be a freshman in food science and industry. Michaela Musselman of Clifton is the daughter of Michael and Melanie Musselman and will be a sophomore in animal sciences and industry focusing on pre-veterinary medicine.
These scholarships are made possible through proceeds from the KCW Silent Auction held during the annual KLA Convention. To be eligible, applicants must be graduates of Kansas high schools attending in-state community and senior colleges and pursuing degrees in dietetics, food safety, agriculture or related fields.
