The Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 470 head selling on July 16, compared to 260 head a week ago and 720 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, there were not enough comparable sales on any class of cattle for a market trend. Trade activity was light to moderate on good demand. Most of the area received some much needed rain over the past several days. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 9%, 2% replacements and 89% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 34% steers and bulls, 66% heifers. Nearly 49% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
