Sept. 30 is the deadline for Kansas Wool Classing school registration

The deadline to register for the Kansas Wool Classing School is Sept. 30. The class is scheduled to take place at the Kansas State University Sheep and Meat Goat Center in Manhattan, Kansas, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 to 21. Ronald Pope will serve as instructor for the course.

The school will cover wool fiber growth, development and production; objective measurement of wool; genetic selection programs; hands-on wool grading; wool contamination and handling practices; and wool classing, packaging, labeling and marking. Participants will also be able to test for Level 1 certification at the conclusion of the school.
