Pratt 3 p.m. livestock auction reported
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, Oct. 11, reported receipts of 881 head selling as of 3 p.m., according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, offerings today were limited with a lower demand noted due to excessive amounts of rain. Feeder steers 800 to 850 pounds were selling steady to $5 lower, with a lower undertone noted on all other comparable weights. There were to few feeder heifers for a market test. There were also not enough steer and heifer calves of comparable weights for a market test.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 3 head, 388 lbs., 192.00; 6 head, 530 lbs., 165.00; 6 head, 596 lbs., 157.00; 17 head, 797 lbs., 153.25; 55 head, 755 lbs., 159.00 thin fleshed; 801 to 823 lbs., 150.75 to 155.75 (153.76); 850 to 899 lbs., 152.35 to 156.25 (154.44); 51 head, 935 lbs., 149.60; 13 head, 960 lbs., 140.00.
