San Angelo livestock auction report
The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 210 head selling on Oct. 18, compared to 783 head a week ago and 1,720 head last year, according to the USDA Market News, San Angelo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, there were not enough of any weight class to establish a market trend. Trading is slow, demand light for rain shortened supply. Heavy rain has covered most of the surrounding area. The supply included 30% slaughter cows, 3% slaughter bulls, 57% feeders, 10% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 40% steers and bulls, 20% weighed over 600 pounds.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 830 lbs., 131.00. Medium and large frame 2, 500 to 600 lbs., 136.00 to 137.00; 640 lbs., 130.00; 720 lbs., 122.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 275 lbs., 142.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 130.00 to 140.00.
Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 450 to 500 lbs., 140.00 to 143.00.
Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 138.00 to 140.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 128.00 to 131.00; 614 lbs., 121.00. Medium and large frame 2, 298 lbs., 138.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 132.00 to 137.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 112.00 to 126.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 410 lbs., 116.00.
Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1500 lbs., 51.00 to 58.00; high dressing, 59.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1400 lbs., 49.00 to 56.00; low dressing, 40.00 to 45.50; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 40.00.
