Corn harvest nearly completed Missouri

Temperatures for the week ending Nov. 11 averaged 37.6 degrees, 8.3 degrees below normal, according to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Heartland Regional Field Office, Missouri. Precipitation averaged 0.61 inches statewide, 0.05 inches below normal. There were 2.2 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 5 percent short, 77 percent adequate, and 18 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 3 percent very short, 16 percent short, 77 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Corn harvested progressed to 94 percent this week. Soybeans harvested reached 70 percent this week, which is 15 percentage points behind last year. Cotton harvested reached 93 percent this week. Sorghum harvested progressed to 86 percent this week. Winter wheat planted progressed to 72 percent. Winter wheat emerged progressed to 54 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated at 4 percent poor, 51 percent fair, 39 percent good, and 6 percent excellent.
