The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Nebraska, reported receipts of 2,149 head selling on Nov. 9, compared to 4,713 head a week ago and 2,635 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steer calves over 500 pounds were selling $4 to $9 lower and heifer calves over 400 pounds were selling steady to $7 lower on the comparable offerings. Around 75% of the calves had received their fall pre-condition shots. Demand was moderate to good from the buyers in the crowd with the best demand for the pre-conditioned offerings. The calf and feeder supply included 61% steers and 39% heifers with nearly 19% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
