Lexington Livestock auction report
The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Nebraska, reported receipts of 1,302 head Dec. 7, compared to 3,488 head a week ago and 2,940 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
There were not enough receipts for an accurate comparison to the sale a week ago, therefore a trend is not applicable. Demand was moderate to good from the buyers in the seats. Around 400 head of slaughter cows and bulls are included in the receipts. The calf and feeder supply included 60% steers and 40% heifers with nearly 29% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
