Apache Livestock Auction report
The Apache Livestock Auction to Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,617 head selling Dec. 13, compared to 2,089 head a week ago and 1,670 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $11 to $12 higher, feeder heifers were selling $9 to $10 higher. Steer calves were selling $4 to $15 higher, heifer calves were selling $6 to $20 higher. Quality was good to attractive with very good demand. The supply included 59% over 600 lbs and 46% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady in a light test. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 240 cows and bulls sold with 38% going to packers. Apache auction will be closed from Dec. 17, 2018, to Jan. 2, 2019.
