Our Amazing Grasslands ~ Perman Family, Lowry, SD
“When I am thinking about making changes or adding an input or changing an enterprise, I look at the economics of it—does it make sense financially; does it make sense environmentally? Is it to accomplish what I am hoping it does? Is it going to have some unintended consequence beyond the target of what I am trying to accomplish; and does it fit our labor availability? Then, how is it going to affect our work flow and quality of life? Those are what I base my decisions on.” ~Luke Perman
In our seven minute December video release of 2020, we visit with the Perman Family, Lowry, SD, as well as range and sheep specialists on integrating sheep in an operation for control of noxious weeds and improvement of grasslands. The SD Grassland Coalition partnered with the organizations listed below to enhance the Grassland Planner with a release of a short video story each month during 2020 promoting healthy soils, grasslands, and ecosystems. Please enjoy the Our Amazing Grasslands feature story for November 2020 featuring the Gilbert Family.
