Cash bids higher
Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat, soybeans and sorghum were up, according to USDA reported prices, Feb. 16.
For the week ending Feb. 11, a decrease of 262,733 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 1,094,925 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 60,412 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 131,407 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending Feb. 5, reported a slight increase at 937,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was up 20 3/4 cents to unchanged. Corn was up 13 1/2 cents. Sorghum was up 13 1/2 cents. Soybeans were up 12 3/4 cents.
In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $6.37 1/2.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.62 1/2, up 20 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $7.42 1/2, up 20 3/4 cents; Portland, $6.70 to $7.35, unchanged; St. Louis, $6.92 1/2 to $6.97 1/2, up 20 3/4 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.42 1/4 to $5.44 1/4, up 13 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $4.97 1/4 to $5.33 3/4, up 13 to 13 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $5.42 1/4 to $5.58 1/4, up 13 1/2 to 13 1/4 cents; Omaha, $5.12 1/4 to $5.24 1/4, up 16 1/2 to 13 1/2 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.74 3/4 to $13.84 3/4, up 12 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $13.29 3/4 to $13.62 3/4, up 12 3/4 to 15 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $13.62 3/4 to $13.86 3/4, up 12 3/4 to 14 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.94 3/4 to $13.99 3/4, up 12 3/4 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Feb. 16, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.37 1/2 to $7.47 1/2, up 20 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $7.62 1/2 to $7.72 1/2, up 20 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $7.47 1/2 to $7.57 1/2, up 20 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $7.47 1/2 to $7.57 1/2, up 20 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
