Ada feeder cattle sale results

Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,141 head selling a week ago, 1,496 head trading March 17 and 711 head selling a year ago, according to USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $2 to $5 higher. Heifers under 500 pounds were trading $4 to $6 higher with those over 500 pounds selling mostly steady to $1 higher. All classes saw a light test. Quality was average. Demand was good. Heavy rain moved across the trade area earlier in the week. Supply included: 100% feeder cattle (40% steers, 49% heifers, 11% bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 21%.
