Cash bids mostly mixed
Compared to last week, cash bids for were mostly mixed for corn, soybeans, wheat and sorghum according to USDA reported prices, Aug. 24.
For the week ending Aug. 19, a decrease of 56,744 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 63,105 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed an increase of 96,944 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an increase of 73,320 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending Aug. 13, had a slight decrease at 973,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was unchanged to down 1/2 cent. Corn was up 1 1/2 to 6 1/2 cents. Sorghum was up 6 1/2 cents. Soybeans were up 39 cents.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $7.24 1/4 to $7.46 1/4, unchanged; Minneapolis, $7.87 1/4 to $7.92 1/4, down 1/4 cent; Portland, $9.75 to $10.60, down 1/2 cent to unchanged; St. Louis, $6.78 to $6.82, down 5 3/4 to 4 3/4 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.64 1/2 to $5.49 1/2, up 6 1/2 to 8 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $5.54 1/2 to $6.19 1/2, up 6 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $5.64 1/2 to $5.92 1/2, down 6 1/2 cents; Omaha, $5.81 1/2 to $6.02 1/2, up 6 1/2 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.21 3/4 to $13.51 3/4, up 39 cents; Minneapolis, $12.91 3/4 to $13.46 3/4, up 39 cents; southern Iowa, $13.46 3/4 to $13.74 3/4, up 39 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.31 3/4 to $13.96 3/4, up 39 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Aug. 24, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.99 1/4 to $8.09 1/4, unchanged; 12% protein, $8.24 1/4 to $8.34 1/4, unchanged; 13% protein, $8.84 1/4 to $8.94 1/4, unchanged; 14% protein, $8.84 1/4 to $8.94 1/4, unchanged. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
