Cash bids mixed

Compared to last week, cash bids for were mostly mixed for wheat, corn, sorghum and soybeans according to USDA reported prices, Jan. 4.

For the week ending Dec. 30, a decrease of 358,396 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 540,552 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 149,391 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 173,506 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Dec. 24, had a slight increase at 1,059,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was up 12 1/2 cents to down 3 cents. Corn was up 20 1/4 cents. Sorghum was up 20 1/4 cents. Soybeans were up 34 3/4 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City March 2022 wheat was $8.04.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $8.32, up 12 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $11.54, up 12 1/2 cents ; Portland, $10.20 to $11.25, down 3 cents to unchanged; St. Louis, $8, up 12 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $6.19 1/2 to $6.29 1/2, up 20 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $5.69 1/2 to $6.07 1/2, up 20 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $5.81 1/2 to $5.97 1/2, up 20 1/4 cents; Omaha, $5.75 1/2 to $5.97 1/2, up 20 1/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.84 3/4 to $14.09 3/4, up 34 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $13.38 3/4 to $13.54 3/4, up 34 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $13.53 3/4 to $13.65 3/4, up 34 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.83 3/4 to $13.93 3/4, up 34 3/4 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Jan. 4, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $10.84 to $10.94, up 12 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $11.59 to $11.69, up 27 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $11.84 to $11.94, up 12 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $11.84 to $11.94, up 12 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
