Compared to the last report, demand and trade activity for the most part remained steady, however, trades of alfalfa picked up this past week for the southwest and south-central regions, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Oct. 10.
Producers state that even though trades did increase for those regions, there seems to be a lot of options for end users to feed, as their reports indicate an abundance of silage and feed hay. Most producers are busy finishing corn harvest and moving on to milo and beans. Yields, for the most part, have been down. Prices are based on averages and given on a per-ton basis, unless otherwise noted.
