High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Oct. 30 reported receipts of 67,361 head of cattle selling compared to 82,888 head a week ago and 67,267 head trading a year ago, according to USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri. This report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. 

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 27,204 head, 1,288 to 1,675 lbs., 181.00 to 186.00 (183.93); 65 to 80% Choice, 4,785 head, 1,260 to 1,600 lbs., 180.00 to 186.00 (184.34); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,389 head, 1,200 to 1,530 lbs., 182.00 to 185.50 (184.30). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,423 head, 1,475 to 1,550 lbs., 184.00 to 186.50 (185.79). Dressed delivered, over 80% Choice, 6,797 head, 868 to 1,040 lbs., 287.00 to 292.00 (293.66); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,837 head, 905 to 1,013 lbs., 289.00 to 290.00 (289.96); 35 to 65% Choice, 341 head, 865 to 975 lbs., 290.00.
