The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded $14.1 million in financial assistance to Jefferson City for upgrades to its wastewater treatment system. The assistance is expected to cover the project’s total cost, and the improvements should be completed by September 2025.
The improvement project is expected to enhance operations and maintenance of the city’s wastewater treatment system by replacing aging infrastructure.
The funding consists of a $14.1 million low-interest loan, which is estimated to save customers approximately $4.6 million in interest over the loan’s 20-year term.
