High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending July 7, reported receipts of 38,763 head compared to 55,707 head a week ago and 62,106 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 13,286 head, 1,325 to 1,675 lbs., 190.00 to 200.00 (198.22); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,198 head, 1,250 to 1,475 lbs., 189.00 to 198.00 (194.03); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,181 head, 1,250 to 1,425 lbs., 190.00. Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 752 head, 1,400 to 1,540 lbs., 198.00 to 200.00 (199.08). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 3,296 head, 769 to 992 lbs., 308.00 to 315.00 (313.87); 65 to 80% Choice, 707 head, 842 to 960 lbs., 312.00 to 314.00 (312.86.) Dressed FOB, 842 head, 866 to 960 lbs., 315.00.
