High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Feb. 2, reported receipts of 46,684 head compared to 67,134 head a week ago and 57,712 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 15,255 head, 1,300 to 1,685 lbs., 204.00 to 213.00 (209.97); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,019 head, 1,250 to 1,555 lbs., 203.00 to 210.50 (207.94); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,499 head, 1,200 to 1,550 lbs., 204.00 to 208.00 (207.69).  Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 338 head, 1,450 to 1,500 lbs., 210.00 to 211.00 (210.89). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 6,988 head, 837 to 1,134 lbs., 320.00 to 332.00 (329.21); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,056 head, 766 to 982 lbs., 325.00 to 330.00 (328.59). Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 851 head, 937 to 1,048 lbs., 330.00 to 332.00 (331.08).
