Lienz, Austria, February 2025 – Komet Austria GmbH, a global leader in irrigation solutions, is
entering a new phase of growth under fresh leadership. This transition marks a key step in the
company’s strategic expansion, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and
international market growth.
The company’s longstanding managing partners, brothers Arno, Viktor, and Hugo Drechsel, who
transformed Komet into a global market leader, have handed over leadership to a new executive
team. As of January 1, 2025, Sacha Hoffmann and Andree Groos have assumed joint leadership
of Komet Austria GmbH. The Drechsel brothers will continue to support the company as
members of the Advisory Board in an advisory capacity.
Strong Performance and Continued Growth

Komet has strengthened its position as a leader in sustainable irrigation solutions, experiencing
consistent growth fueled by its commitment to water and energy efficiency, product innovation,
and strong market demand. This success reflects the global shift towards sustainable agricultural
practices and the increasing need for efficient water management solutions.
Strategic Vision Under New Leadership
After decades of family-led management, Komet’s leadership has transitioned to a new executive
team. Sacha Hoffmann, Managing Director since 2024, will oversee Operations, Finance, HR, and
Administration. CEO Andree Groos, with over 20 years of international leadership experience, will
lead Product Development, Sales, and Marketing.

“This leadership transition is a strategic step towards strengthening Komet’s global presence and
ensuring sustainable growth,” say Hoffmann and Groos. “Building on Komet’s strong legacy, we
aim to drive innovation, expand our market reach, and enhance our role as a trusted partner in
sustainable agriculture.”
Global Expansion: Focus on Brazil and Key Markets
Komet continues to expand its global footprint, focusing on key agricultural markets, including
the USA, Brazil, and Eurasia. In Brazil, one of the world’s largest agricultural producers, Komet is
increasing its presence through its own team of irrigation experts, who work closely with local
distributors and farmers to provide high-efficiency irrigation solutions tailored to regional needs.
In addition to investing in its team, Komet is also expanding local test and laboratory capacities
to further enhance its solutions for the Brazilian market.
In North America, Komet has invested in a new warehouse facility in Fremont, Nebraska, to meet
rising demand. Additionally, new irrigation experts have joined the team, reinforcing Komet’s
commitment to service and market expansion.
In Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, Komet is strengthening its presence by hiring local
experts to collaborate with partners on innovative irrigation solutions.
Growth Strategy and Long-Term Vision
Komet remains committed to long-term growth through strategic investments, innovation, and
expansion into new markets. Its collaboration with Trill Impact since 2022 has enhanced the
company’s ability to scale operations and professionalize its global business structure. Trill
Impact, a leading impact investment firm with over EUR 1 billion in assets, supports Komet in
delivering sustainable solutions that benefit investors, businesses, and society.
While financial figures remain undisclosed, Komet expects continued above-market growth
through increased market penetration, particularly in high-potential regions.

on sustainability, digitalization, and international expansion, the company remains committed to
its mission: enhancing agricultural productivity while conserving vital natural resources.
