Celebrate the Fourth and appreciate what you have

"Just A Scoopful" - Jerry Nine

As we celebrate our independence July 4 let us never forget why we are free. And most of us have had freedom all of our life so it is easy to take it for granted.

Would I want to sacrifice my life so that the rest of you can have freedom? Or would I want my kids to give up their life so that we can be free? Thankfully many have fought for freedom so that we can enjoy all the freedoms we have.

Remind yourself to look around and make a special effort to tell those men and women who have served “thank you.” And also the families who have lost a loved one it has to be a bittersweet. I thank God he allowed me to be born in America. We are so privileged.

Fat cattle on Friday tracked at $224 to $225, which is definitely lower, but still an extremely big figure. That price is a lot higher than I thought we could ever get to. I can eat a little chicken and a little pork, but not a lot. I was mostly raised on beef and that’s what I like. Other countries have figured that out, too, and that’s one main reason we have reached these levels that we have.

When you have 600-pound steers bringing $2,100 and more and 400-pound steers bringing $1,800 and more that’s a good market with a lot of optimism. Up north I saw where 337-pound steers brought $620 per hundredweight, which is $2,089.40 per head. They evidently have a better plan than I have. At my house a 337-pound steer can also die.

If you are going to be happy in life you have to have the intent to be happy. Most of us should record ourselves all day. Then we might realize why some people do not want to be around us. I remember my Dad saying many times—you might as well enjoy it. It’s all the same price.

I was at Walmart and a clerk was checking my groceries. She said, “Your total is $179.50.” I said, “Ma’am give my stuff back I’m going to go through self-checkout.”

If your girlfriend texts you, “Good morning sorry I fell asleep last night.” Text back, “No problem I just got home.” Let me know how that works out.

If you are attracted to both men and women, but neither is attracted to you then I’m afraid you are bi-yourself.

I saw a man wearing a shirt the other day which said if genders confuse you then go try to milk a bull.
