High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending July 6, reported receipts of 42,802 head compared to 43,228 head a week ago and 38,763 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 16,070 head, 1,212 to 1,650 lbs., 218.00 to 235.00 (230.56); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,384 head, 1,299 to 1,550 lbs., 220.00 to 234.00 (223.68); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,992 head, 1,330 to 1,500 lbs., 224.00 to 225.00 (224.32).
