KANSAS CITY, MO—High Plains Journal, a bi-weekly agricultural publication and a multi-media company with educational events that has been serving the High Plains region for more than 75 years, is announcing Crops & Cattle—Conference and Ag Expo, Aug. 4 to 6, at the Kansas City Convention Center.

Organizers say the event will bring together people who are driving American agriculture in education, innovation and connection.

High Plains Journal Publisher Zac Stuckey said the move to Kansas City was not taken lightly, but after evaluating accommodations and growth potential, it became clear a different location was merited.

“We have a strong plan for 2026, where we will refine the HPJ Live concept to create an even better event called Crops & Cattle,” he said. “Kansas City offers great amenities for families, central access for education, and a hub for industry collaboration.”

Twenty-four sessions plus two keynotes will be led by producers and industry professionals, covering the topics that matter most—crop and cattle management, grazing, soil health, genetics, herd management, marketing, and practical strategies to strengthen profitability and flexibility in your operation.

“HPJ events are known for education and networking with thoughtful leaders and producers,” Stuckey said. “At Crops & Cattle 2026, you will make connections that drive cropping systems and cattle programs forward to tackle marketplace challenges and seize new opportunities.”

Stuckey said the team will focus on practical, income-driven solutions tailored for farmers and ranchers in the Journal’s 12-state region.

“We have a good grasp on your educational needs, but you are the ones in the trenches,” he said. “We want to build an event that works best for you.”

Share your ideas and nominations for education at our upcoming event online on the Crops and Cattle website. A call for education is open now through Feb. 9 and proposals are being accepted at hpjlive.com.

There will be opportunities to explore the latest tools and equipment on the expo floor, hear fresh ideas to advance cattle and cropping programs, as well as connect with experts who bring decades of experience to every conversation. Contact Jason Koenig at 314-873-3125 or [email protected] for information about exhibiting at the event.

Farmers and ranchers wanting to improve profitability and efficiency, ag professionals focused on innovation, technology and business growth; crop and livestock producers wanting to diversify revenue; and students and emerging professionals eager to learn from seasoned experts should register now to secure their spot.

Attendee registration will open in February. Follow Crops & Cattle on Facebook for event updates. Sign up on the website for emails with event updates and speaker information as presenters are confirmed.

Kansas City is an ideal spot to extend a visit before or after Crops & Cattle. There will be an opening reception the evening of Aug. 4, and an off-site networking event for the entire family Aug. 5, and early registration is encouraged.
