MU Extension to host grazing systems field day

University of Missouri Extension specialists and producers will talk about diversifying grazing systems, silvopasture, native forages and using regenerative practices at a Diversified Grazing Systems Field Day. The event is 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 18, at Land of the Osages Research Farm near Gravois Mills.

Panelists include Margaret Chamas, who operates a flock of dairy goats for grazing pastures at Storm Dancer Farm in Smithville; Kaitlyn Dozer, part of the MU Center for Regenerative Agriculture and a leading expert on grazing collars for livestock; producer Harry Cope of Cope Grass Farm, a fifth-generation diversified farm dedicated to sustainable and regenerative grazing. Cope, a Leopold Conservation Award winner, will walk attendees through the process of going from pasture to timber.
