JCB introduces 2 skid steer loaders for agriculture
JCB is expanding its compact equipment lineup with the introduction of the 250 and 290 skid steer loaders. Manufactured in Savannah, Georgia, the models are designed to meet the demands of North American agricultural operations. The company says the machines are designed for everyday material handling, with an emphasis on performance, versatility and operator-focused features.
Powered by a 74-horsepower engine, the 250 and 290 are engineered to support a wide range of attachments and tackle daily jobs across the farm. From loading feed and stacking hay to handling pallets, cleaning facilities and moving materials, the machines are designed for year-round use. They also bring JCB’s single-arm boom design to this size class, pairing visibility with side-door entry.

The 250 and 290 skid steer loaders bring JCB’s design to the machine class. They also expand the company’s compact equipment lineup with material handlers built for North American agriculture. Positioned in a midsize weight class for JCB, the machines are designed to balance lifting performance, maneuverability and versatility.
The 250 and 290 offer rated operating capacities of approximately 2,531 and 3,029 pounds, respectively, with hinge pin heights reaching more than 10 feet. That combination provides the reach and lifting capability needed for loading feed mixers, stacking seed and fertilizer, handling pallets and moving hay. High-flow hydraulic options and compatibility with a broad range of skid steer attachments allow operators to tackle a range of material-handling tasks with a single machine.
Despite their capability, both models maintain a compact footprint and maneuverability. Operators can work around barns, feedyards, commodity sheds and other confined spaces where larger equipment may not fit. Whether loading trucks, cleaning livestock facilities or moving materials across the farmyard, the machines are engineered for use throughout the workday.
