Two Oklahoma men arrested in theft of Texas cattle
Two Oklahoma men were arrested in connection with the theft and sale of nine yearlings belonging to their employer in July, according to the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.
Jonathan Rosas, 19, and Edward Marques, 20, both of Felt, Oklahoma, surrendered to the Cimarron County Sheriff’s Office Sept. 10 without incident.
Warrants were issued for Rosas and Marques on charges of theft of domestic animals after investigators found evidence indicating the men took the cattle and sold them in Oklahoma.
Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger Lynn Mays led the investigation. Special Ranger Chris Ward and Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Special Agent Paul Cornett also assisted.
The Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association credited the Cimarron County District Attorney’s Office, Cimarron County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma Department of Agriculture for their assistance with the investigation.
