High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending July 13, reported receipts of 64,226 head compared to 42,802 head a week ago and 67,493 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri. The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 23,215 head, 1,270 to 1,650 lbs., 228.00 to 242.00 (238.93); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,900 head, 1,300 to 1,511 lbs., 225.00 to 230.00 (229.00); 35 to 65% Choice, 3,070 head, 1,250 to 1,500 lbs., 228.00 to 230.00 (229.33). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,104 head, 1,450 to 1,525 lbs., 236.00 to 241.00 (239.21); 65 to 80% Choice, 510 head, 1,475 to 1,550 lbs., 236.00 to 240.00 (239.29).
