The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Jan. 11, reported receipts of 56,437 head compared to 33,279 head a week ago and 60,902 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 18,761 head, 1,350 to 1,700 lbs., 228.00 to 234.00 (231.81); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,086 head, 1,295 to 1,660 lbs., 228.00 to 233.00 (232.51); 35 to 65% Choice, 286 head, 1,375 lbs., 233.00. Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 2,009 head, 1,275 to 1,625 lbs., 233.00 to 237.00 (235.04).
