The inaugural Panhandle Frontier Finds was a shopping success in western Nebraska. The three-day event, June 5 to 7, had 252 registered vendors in every county of the Panhandle.

Visitors were from 16 states and two countries, said Jamie Bright, Rural Prosperity Nebraska Extension educator. Event organizers do not yet have exact figures for the total number of people visiting the area, but 388 people completed the Panhandle Frontier Finds survey, and Bright estimated more than 1,000 people attended.

Panhandle Frontier Finds featured antiques, collectibles, handmade goods, garage sales, food vendors and plenty of small-town hospitality along the way. Visitors said they had a wonderful time and shared stories about family members who used to live in Nebraska, tales of grandpa’s farm and memories brought back while traveling through the Panhandle.
