The 808 Ranch, operated by Lamar and Shari Steiger of Bentonville, Arkansas, has named veteran agricultural business leader Jared Wareham vice president of ag operations to support the ranch’s continued growth and operational excellence.
In his new role, Wareham will help guide operations in northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri, as well as genetics strategy, business development and stakeholder relationships, as the organization continues to scale its purebred Black Angus herd and integrated beef supply chain. Wareham will also oversee several upcoming Steiger family agricultural ventures.

“Jared brings leadership, industry knowledge and strategic clarity that align with The 808 Ranch’s direction,” said Steiger Family Office Managing Partner Eli Steiger. “His ability to translate vision into execution will be a strong asset as we continue to build a world-class ranching operation.”
Wareham brings more than two decades of experience in genetics, seedstock, commercial beef production and strategic business development. As founder and CEO of Horizon Venture Management, he developed practical, economically viable growth strategies for agricultural technology startups, livestock genetics companies and established agricultural businesses.
As the global business development leader for ABS Global’s NuEra program, he helped develop structured, revenue-generating commercialization models across North America, Australia and New Zealand. He has also served on the boards of FCS Financial and the National Institute for Animal Agriculture.

“Once I learned the scope of the Steiger family’s vision, I knew this was where I needed to be,” Wareham said. “Ranching and beef seedstock have been my passion since I got my Angus Association membership as a teenager and built my own ranching operation in Midwest Missouri. I’ve sharpened my skills and resolve working with startups and global corporations and developed a unique niche in ag tech, industry and venture capital.”
“I am excited to work with Lamar Steiger and this talented team,” he said. “Together we will accomplish big things, serving the cattle industry we love, pursuing excellence from ranch to retail, through other diverse investments and acquisitions, and continuing to grow a Midwest ranching legacy that started near Devil’s Tower in Wyoming nearly a century ago.”
Founded in 2020 by the Steiger family after nearly 100 years of ranching, The 808 Ranch has become one of the region’s top Black Angus ranches while maintaining the family’s commitment to land stewardship, precision genetics, innovative technologies and industry best practices.
“We are proud of the legacy we have built as a fourth-generation ranching family,” said Lamar Steiger. “We are also excited to bring Jared into our family’s ranching and agribusiness interests as well as leverage his vast industry knowledge and position in the ag business community in this new era of growth.”
