The Iowa Pork Producers Association has hired Amber Bryant as communications manager.
Bryant brings to IPPA roots in agriculture and a career built on telling the stories of farmers and the people who work alongside them.
“Amber brings an impressive combination of agricultural communications experience, pork industry knowledge and a genuine appreciation for the people who raise pigs,” said Pat McGonegle, CEO of the Iowa Pork Producers Association. “She understands the opportunities and challenges facing producers, and she knows how to turn complex issues into clear, meaningful stories. We’re excited to have her on our team and know she will be a tremendous asset as we continue working to serve Iowa’s pig farmers and strengthen their connection with consumers.”

Bryant grew up in southern Missouri where her grandfather ran a cow-calf operation. That upbringing gave her an early and lasting appreciation for the hard work and commitment of farm families that she has carried into every role in her career. She has worked in agricultural communications for 15 years, connecting farmers with the information and resources they need and sharing their stories with the audiences who need to hear them.
“I have spent my career writing about and communicating with farmers and others who work hard every day to care for their families, animals, land and communities,” Bryant said. “Farmers are the most salt-of-the-earth people I know. They’re dedicated not just to their operations, but to the families they are building and the legacy they are leaving behind. I am honored to join IPPA and proud to continue this work on behalf of Iowa’s pig farmers.”
Most recently, Bryant worked more than five years in producer communications at the National Pork Board, where she developed fluency in the pork industry and a deep respect for the people who raise pigs. She wrote and managed content across websites, email programs and digital platforms on topics including market conditions, animal health, biosecurity, human nutrition and sustainability.
“Amber joined us right before the Iowa State Fair and immediately put her skills to use by enhancing our social media,” said IPPA Communications Director Kevin Hall. “The reels Amber created from the Pork Tent helped us reach more than 1.5 million people over those 11 days. She has a strong communications background, a wealth of knowledge and ideas, and we are fortunate to have her on the team.”
Bryant’s background in communications is rooted in journalism. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from Drake University. She also holds a master’s degree in strategic communication from the University of Iowa.
In her new role, Bryant will support IPPA’s communications across digital platforms including the website, email and social media; produce content that supports Iowa producers and promotes pork; and strengthen the association’s connection with members, the public and the communities IPPA serves.
