Darrell Hanavan will join father in Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame
The Colorado FFA Foundation has announced that Darrell Hanavan will be inducted into the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame with the Class of 2027. He and his father, Charles L. Hanavan Jr., inducted in 2020, will be the first father-and-son pair in the hall.
Charles L. Hanavan Jr. was inducted into the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2020 after a lifetime of farming, agricultural leadership and service to Colorado’s farmers and rural communities. The induction ceremony for the Class of 2027 is Feb. 25.
Darrell Hanavan served 34 years as executive director of the Colorado Wheat Administrative Committee, from 1982 to 2016, adding leadership of the Colorado Wheat Research Foundation, which he founded, from 1989 to 2016, and the Colorado Association of Wheat Growers from 1998 to 2016. He led the state’s wheat policy, advocacy and research organizations simultaneously for nearly two decades.
