OKC West Livestock auction report

The OKC West Livestock, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 100% feeder cattle totaling 9,689 head selling on Oct. 31, compared to 11,271 head a week ago and 10,597 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $1 to $2 lower, heifers were selling steady. Demand was moderate for all classes. Steer calves under 500 pounds that were weaned were selling steady to firm, remainder of the cattle including heifers were mostly selling $2 to $3 lower. Quality was mostly plain to average, few attractive. The feeder cattle supply included 57% steers, 0% dairy steers, 39% heifers and 4% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 59%.
