Mark Jensen is the new president and CEO of Farm Credit Services of America and Frontier Farm Credit, Omaha, Nebraska. Jensen succeeds Doug Stark who retired. Jensen joined FCSAmerica in 1992 and was named senior vice president-chief risk officer in 2013. FCSAmerica serves customers in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming. Frontier Farm Credit serves eastern Kansas.
Dee Griffin received the Mentor of the Year Award from Merck Animal Health, Madison, New Jersey, and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners. The award was presented on behalf of Griffin’s contributions to the bovine medicine industry and his commitment to mentoring the next generations of bovine veterinarians.
Johnathan Jay has been named a territory sales manager of the Midwest region of Arysta LifeScience North America, Cary, North Carolina. Jay’s territory includes Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
Alison Crane has been hired as assistant professor and Extension sheep and meat goat specialist for the Kansas State University Department of Animal Sciences and Industry. Crane will develop and lead Extension teaching and applied research programs in sheep and meat goat production and management; oversee the K-State Sheep and Meat Goat Center; teach undergraduate sheep and meat goat science; advise undergraduate and graduate students and coach the collegiate wool judging team.
Oklahoma State Forester George Geissler has been named president of the National Association of State Foresters. Geissler has worked as a forester and wildland firefighter for variety of organizations, including the United States Forest Service, before joining Oklahoma Forestry Services in 2006 where he serves as the director and state forester. Geissler succeeds Wyoming State Forester Bill Crapser for a one-year term.
Jeremy Anderson has been hired to serve as president and CEO of Farm Credit of Southern Colorado in Colorado Springs. Anderson, who has more than 16 years of banking and lending experience as well as operating his own row crop farm operation, was most recently a regional president of Heartland Bank of Hastings, Nebraska, a role in which he oversaw six banking locations.
Inocucor, Denver, Colorado, has appointed Tim Sturm as executive vice president of marketing and sales as well as chief commercial officer. In these capacities, Sturm will oversee North America and Latin America. Inocucor uses a fermentation process to combine multi-strains of bacteria and yeasts into soil and plant optimizers that are safe for people and the environment.
Randy Stookey has been promoted to general counsel and senior vice president of government affairs of the Kansas Grain and Feed Association, Topeka. Stookey has been the general counsel for KFGA and its managing contract associations, Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association and Renew Kansas since 2011.
Josh Davies, with the Center for Work Ethic Development, will present “Less Talk, More Walk—Creating a Culture of Ethics and Accountability” at the 17th Annual Kansas Workforce Summit Jan. 17 to 18 at the Capitol Plaza Maner Conference Center.
