OKC West Livestock auction report

The OKC West Livestock, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 11,271 head selling on Oct. 24, compared to 3,920 head a week ago and 6,660 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Kansas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers under 850 pounds were selling $2 to $3 lower over 850 pounds fully steady. Feeder heifers were trading $4 to $6 higher. Demand was moderate to good.Weaned steer calves were selling $6 to $10 higher. Heifer calves were trading mostly steady to firm. Demand was very good for long weaned calves, light to moderate for un-weaned calves. Quality few plain mostly average to attractive. The feeder cattle supply included 64% steers, 32% heifers and 3% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 73%.
