Tulsa Livestock Auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,386 head selling on Aug. 6, compared to 2,153 head a week ago and 1,860 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $4 to $6 higher. Heifers were selling $3 to $5 lower. Quality was plain. Demand was good. The total receipts of offerings was 24% feeder cattle over 600 pounds while 45% of the total receipts were heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $3 lower. A total of 334 cows and bulls sold with 69% going to packers.
