Tulsa Livestock Auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,723 head selling on Nov. 12, compared to 3,505 head a week ago and 4,323 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, cold weather along with rain and snow throughout the trade area kept receipts low, causing a much lower undertone to be noted on both steers and heifers. Demand remains good. Quality was mostly plain, few attractive. The offering included 18% of the receipt totals are feeder cattle over 600 pounds while 37% of the total receipts are heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $3 to $4 lower. A total of 362 cows and bulls sold with 52% going to packers.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 26 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 71.00 to 76.00; high dressing, 80.00; low dressing, 64.00 to 69.00; very low, 56.00 to 61.00.
Replacement cows: All were pre-tested for pregnancy and age. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 4 years old, 1125 to 1250 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, average black 950.00 to 1100.00; 5 to 6 years old, 1125 to 1250 lbs., 2 to 7 months bred, average quality 875.00 to 1000.00; 7 to 8 years old, 1300 to 1475 lbs., 3 to 6 months bred, average quality 650.00 to 1000.00.
