Tulsa cattle auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 892 head on Feb. 12, compared to 1,566 head last week and 2,312 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Following bitter cold and icy conditions in the trade area his past week, the steers were selling $5 higher. The heifers were selling $3 higher in a light test. The demand was good. The quality was good. The receipts included 30% weighing over 600 pounds and 34% were heifers. The slaughter cows were selling $2 higher also in a light test. The slaughter bulls have too few receipts to establish a trend. A total of 111 cows and bulls was sold with 44% going to packers.
